Job SummaryUnder limited supervision, apply principles of financial accounting to ensure financial statement accuracy in a dynamic working and changing environment. Perform, analyze, advise, create and improve accounting activities and duties:Essential FunctionsPerform general ledger maintenance, reconciliation, and analysisManage and maintain systems related to: ERP, bank, tax and credit cardPerform treasury functions such as wires, ACH's, foreign transactions and check runsPrepare and provide various reports to management as requested supporting monthly financials, audits, and year end reportingPerform internal audit functions - maintenance, review and testingPrepare and calculate various monthly accrualsAssist with audit requests and preparation of financial statementsReadies and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles, that include work that is analytical, evaluative, and advisory in nature and that requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practiceUtilizes knowledge of the fundamental principles, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general managementAnalyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationshipsEvaluates alternative means of treating transactionsPlans the way account structures should be developed or modifiedEnsures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to managementConsiders the need for new or improved controlsProjects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition. Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statementsAdvises operating officials on accounting mattersRecommends improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and proceduresApplies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reportsCompiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactionsAnalyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial positionAudits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlementAble to lead and coordinate activities of other lower-level accountants, and/or clerical workers performing accounting and bookkeeping tasksMay establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control proceduresMay devise and implement manual or computer-based system for general accountingPerform other duties as assignedAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs, and activitiesMaintain a clean and orderly work areaJob QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting from four-year college or universityTwo to three years of Sr. Accounting or related experience preferredProficient in Excel, Word, OutlookStrong teamwork attitude and adaptable to changing environmentsExperience with accounting ERP systemProcess improvement minded - one who looks for opportunity to improve instead of process the status quoPerson with strong self-initiativeAbility to read and interpret instructions, business correspondence, and memos - strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail are necessary.Ability to calculate figures such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions and apply the concepts to practical situationsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formPhysical RequirementsWill be required to work on-site in the Ogden, UT office.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.Employee must exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Notice to RecruitersWe prefer that candidates apply directly rather than through recruiters.
