Mechanical Engineers at Kimberly-Clark initiate design, develop, optimize and problem solve manufacturing processes in a manner that meets safety and performance expectations. The Mechanical Engineer for this role will provide leadership and creativity in the exploration, design, development, optimization, and problem solving for tissue manufacturing and converting. You have expertise across multiple technologies and will have proven ability to effectively provide specific project work direction to a broad range of team members. You report to an Engineering Manager and receive direction in the form of general project objectives.

KEY CUSTOMERS:
Sector Management, Project Sponsors, Staff Engineering, Portfolio Leaders, Mill Leadership, and Mill Asset Teams

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and teach root cause failure analysis of failed parts and equipment

• Lead reliability analysis of CMMS (SAP) data to determine trends and opportunities. Leads problem solving to capitalize on the opportunity.
• Lead capital projects up to $10MM in scope

• Lead plant-wide initiatives to improve Safety, Quality, Cost and OEE

• Build capability in maintenance technicians and other engineers

• Be a plant champion for the Kimberly-Clark Reliability program

• Improve maintenance planning, scheduling and execution processes

• Implement condition monitoring programs to eliminate unplanned delay

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Requires a bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited College or University.
• Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing environment.
• A demonstrated ability to perform in multi-functional teams to achieve project results within required time frames.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Specific, in depth technical knowledge and expertise in high-speed, highly automated equipment
• Up to 4 years of experience in a variety of plant and staff/corporate engineering assignments

OTHER SKILLS:
• Ability to effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team that includes R&E, product supply, mill operations, procurement, marketing, equipment suppliers and external service providers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Leading and directing projects that successfully meet business objectives

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Ability to effectively communicate to individuals and groups
• Ability to work under normal office or virtual conditions
• Ability to work in manufacturing sites and offices
