history.Northrop Grumman's Space Systems - Propulsions Division is
currently seeking an experienced Staff Project Propulsion Engineer
to provide Stage 1 and Stage 2 Rocket Motor Assembly (RMA) Team
leadership for the Sentinel team in our Promontory, UT offices.Role
description & Responsibilities:The Project Engineer is responsible
for establishment and execution of all technical aspects of
Development, Qualification, and Production of the Stage One (S1)
and Stage Two (S2) rocket motor assembly. This position will manage
the technical products and aspects associated with the RMA
throughout the design, engineering & manufacturing development
(EMD), and production phases. Project Engineer may also be
responsible for the scale up of products, processes, tooling, and
facilities for low rate and high rate production. Fast paced
development programs offer the potential for the Project Engineer
to work with a variety of resources/teams/divisions and witness the
entirety of the programs engineering lifecycle.Job Duties:Develop
program execution plansDesign authority for the S1 and S2 RMA
designsSupports production operationsDevelopment, coordination and
allocation of requirementsAssemble and develop efficient cross
functional teams to execute plansIdentify design concepts and
mature into design solutions that meet the customer needsDevelop MS
Project based master schedules, integrated logic flows, work
breakdown, and assist in program cost estimatesCoordination and
implementation of design and analysis activitiesDevelopment of test
plans and coordination of testing with test engineersIdentification
of risks/mitigations and tracking to closure in Risk
TrackerCoordination and Conducting ReviewsLead problem and failure
investigationsWrite technical reportsPresentations - internal and
externalAbility to Travel expectation of 5% - 10%Experience
Requirements: Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of Project
Leadership experience.Candidate must have demonstrated ability
to:Plan and execute complex, fast paced projectsCommunicate
technically complex topics and scenarios clearly and conciselyBuild
relationships necessary to function efficient teamsBe capable of
actively and efficiently working multiple projectsHave the ability
to get work done through othersAbility to obtain a Security
ClearanceExperience Preferred:Candidates should have a minimum of 5
years in solid rocket motor design and manufacture
experience.Strong understanding of solid rocket motor system
design, development, and manufactureDemonstrated experience with
problem solving, problem investigation teams and critical decision
making skillsStrong understanding and broad application of PS
engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration
management, material review board, process control, tooling,
facilities, software, etc.)Demonstrated experience in generating
technical solutions in the absence of complete customer
requirementsManagement of engineering scope as it pertains to
budgeting and participation in EAC reviewsStrong verbal and written
communication skills including demonstrated experience with high
value customer presentationsDemonstrated team leadership skills -
leader of significant technical projects or investigations and
management of multiple program tasks to schedule and budget
Experience with the proposal processKnowledge and experience in
System Engineering tools and disciplinesKnowledge of lean
manufacturing and design for manufacturabilityAbility to perform
solid modeling using NXEducation/CertificationsBS degree in
Engineering required14 Years with BS; 12 Years with Masters; 9
Years with PhDAbility to work with energetic materials as a U. S.
Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, firearms and
explosives; "Employee Possessor" - requiredUS Citizenship -
requiredSalary Range: $139,000 USD - $208,600 USDEmployees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice
President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
