Job Description:
Operations ManagerSummary:The Operations Manager will work under
the direction of the Vice President of Operations to oversee
company-wide plant operations. -This will include daily review and
oversight of the day-to-day plant performance of production,
quality control, maintenance, wastewater and environmental
compliance, safety, employee relations, packaging, and sanitation.
-This position will participate in company-wide planning &
budgeting for the operations functions. The Operations Manager will
also be involved in the analysis, recommendation, implementation,
and project management of capital expenditure projects. This
position will be responsible for supporting the company's
objectives in achieving performance goals, training, implementing,
and enforcing company polices, programs and procedures and in
compliance with all governmental regulatory requirements. Position
Duties and Responsibilities: --- - -Directly responsible for
oversight of the management and performance all plant functions,
including but not limited to production, packaging, maintenance,
product quality, safety, environmental & regulatory compliance,
shipping and receiving, employee and staff relations, and
sanitation. Plant managers at all locations will report directly to
the Operations Manager. --- - -Actively participate in the plant
planning and budgeting process. Must manage to meet budget
objectives, and monitor/analyze performance as it relates to budget
expectations. --- - -Identifies and recommends capital improvement
needs and opportunities. Works with finance department to prepare
financial analysis of capital projects. --- -Develops goals and
objectives for the plant and department managers / supervisors. ---
-Helps identify training and development needs; coordinates with
management to establish training and development routines. ---
-Helps identify plant staffing and personnel needs, including
department managers / supervisors, and hourly staffing needs. ---
-Responsible for adherence with all plant GMP, HACCP, and food
safety requirements. --- -Responsible for adherence with OSHA
regulations and requirements as they relate to a manufacturing
environment, and with all Company safety programs, policies and
procedures. Promotes a behavior-based safety culture. ---
-Responsible for the accurate completion of all required plant
reports, documentation and record keeping, in English. ---
-Responsible for ensuring all documentation is accurately and
comprehensively completed for employee issues, including but not
limited to: complaints, work-related injuries or illnesses, reasons
for merit and/or rewards, performance reviews, employee warnings
and employee disciplinary actions. --- -Works well with Managers,
subordinates, peers, and other departments while maintaining a
professional attitude. Ability to communicate in a professional and
respectful manner at all times, refraining from demeaning or
disrespectful communication. --- -Responsible for effective
communication to the V.P. of Operations; ensure the dissemination
of information to Quality Assurance Manager, EH&S Manager, HR
Administrator, President & CEO, and all other management staff as
needed. --- -Perform and manage all other duties, as necessary. ---
-Manage projects, including in-house personnel and outside
contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within
budget.Knowledge and Skills: --- -Minimum of 5 years' experience in
a manufacturing environment that includes budgeting, maintenance,
production, sanitation, safety, environmental compliance,
packaging, procurement, and project management/oversight of capital
projects. Experience in Food manufacturing preferred. ---
-Excellent written and oral communication skills. --- -Proven
ability to effectively lead and direct a management team. ---
-Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, or
similar spreadsheet software. --- -Experience overseeing successful
safety programs and creating a culture of safety that results in
superior safety records. --- -Knowledge of production machinery and
equipment, including preventative maintenance programs. --- -Must
be dependable, and self-motivated. Ability to work professionally
while under pressure. --- - -Attention to detail; willingness to
address problems and aggressively work towards discovering the root
cause and finding solutions. --- -Must have the ability to manage
'on the floor' of all areas of the plant facility. --- -Ability to
delegate and assign duties among employees; administer established
policies and procedures within the plant environment.The
-successful candidate will have prior supervisory experience, and
be a hands-on leader, willing to tackle change and have a
continuous improvement mindset. Background in food manufacturing
highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering,
Industrial Relations, Food Science / Food Manufacturing or a
related field preferred. Must be able to use critical thinking
skills, problem solve, and manage their time and other's time
effectively. Hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday, weekends and some holidays may be required.
Travel, including to and from Canada, may be necessary.Idaho
