As we continue to dominate the aftermarket space, we are looking for a skilled Brand Manager to be responsible for managing all aspects of Gorilla Automotive Marketing, including strategic planning, product development, and marketing execution from concept to product release. Summary

  • Responsible for effectively managing all aspects of marketing.
  • Oversee strategic planning, product development and marketing execution for the brand from concept through the entire product lifecycle.
  • Build and organize a strong marketing projects that can successfully elevate the brand and product families.
  • Interface with Engineering and Sales to determine market needs that can be translated to product development requirements including price, competitive landscape, and key features and benefits.
  • Manage all consumer and trade related advertising as well as responsible for developing innovative and unique programs and promotion for both consumer and trade.
  • Direct creative efforts such as ad creation, TV commercials, trade-show booths, web content, etc.
  • Attend trade shows as warranted.
  • Make strategic recommendations on how to deploy the brand into new markets.
  • Collaborate with family of Brand Managers to leverage opportunities to cross-promote and optimize brand awareness.Major Responsibilities
    • Define program objectives, target audiences, strategies/tactics, timeline, and ROI measures. Conduct financial analysis/modeling for the Marketing function as needed.
    • Lead and manage all aspects of the marketing mix at the consumer and trade levels (4 P's - product, placement, price, promotion)
    • Manage the marketing budget
    • Develop brand/messaging strategy for both consumer and trade
    • Develop an integrated media plan for print, TV, mobile, web, and social media that reflects the messaging strategy including PR opportunities and editorial placement
    • Direct the creation of creative material used for promotion
    • Review, edit, and write copy for advertisements, brochures, booklets, and direct mail pieces.
    • Provide material to assist the sales team with product announcements, WD promotions, training, etc.
    • Lead consumer-centered events such as Moab Jeep Safari participation and SEMA Show.
    • Participate in market research studies to determine and define customer needs. Recommend product or service modifications based on marketing research or communication with appropriate field staff.
    • Serve as a liaison with Research & Development to provide market input and business cases for new product development
    • Analyze data from websites, sales field reps, and other data sources to ensure marketing efforts and aligned with market needs.
    • Provide the proper tools and information for the sales and customer service teams to ensure that they carry a consistent marketing message.
    • Lead the effort to collect and analyze competitive intelligence.
    • Monitor markets, industries, and companies to maintain an updated information base.
    • Conduct market research (online surveys, focus groups, field, and syndicated studies) for business planning and new product development
    • Develop the content and promotions for dealer loyalty programs. (e.g. point of sale displays, kiosks, etc.)
    • Administer all mission-critical data including web content, ACES (Aftermarket Catalog Exchange Standard) & PIES (Product Information Exchange Standard)
    • Develop and distribute pertinent reports that prove beneficial in supporting marketing programs and management. Ensures timely generation and summarization of reports as appropriate.Ideal Profile / Qualifications
      • Proven marketing management experience. Has experience successfully improving brand equity and market penetration using best practices with demonstrated improvements that have resulted in improved brand equity and financial gain for the company.
      • Industry experience or passion for the industry. Has experience in a senior-level marketing position in the automotive aftermarket. Understands the channels, competitors, and consumers. Loves vehicles, racing, power, speed, performance, aka "going fast."
      • Drive. Has a good track record of taking initiative and intelligent risks -- a high-energy individual who can balance "pushing people" without burning them out. Is willing to get hands dirty and make sure the job gets done.
      • Analytical and financial aptitude. Possesses industry experience in marketing management or related field. Has income statement understanding. Has experience setting objectives and measurement systems.
      • Vision and implementation. Proven track record of identifying necessary changes and making those changes within a given area of responsibility. Excited to put "his or her stamp" on the department and take ownership
      • Team Player. Able to work with other function heads and departments to complete important cross-functional projects.
      • Leadership and Communication skills. Very strong written and oral communication skills. Has successfully managed a group of people and is able to inspire a department.
      • Education. Bachelor's degree in business administration and/or marketing, or a related degree and 4-8 years related work experience. Candidates with MBA are preferred. Prior marketing experience in Automotive or Automotive Aftermarket setting preferred.
      • Creativity.
