Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes
responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning,
implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes
the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention,
evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health
team members.
The North Area Float Pool is a small group of caregivers that work
in Surgical Services at Layton, McKay Dee Hospital, McKay Dee
Surgical Center, Logan Regional, Logan Surgical Center and Bear
River Valley Hospital.--
This is a newer department in our market and has been so helpful in
managing our staffing needs! Depending on where the employee lives,
we try to place them in the closest facility so that travel is
limited and doable.-- We reimburse for gas mileage when traveling
from Logan or Bear River to McKay Dee or Layton or
vice-versa.--
No call is required for float pool positions, at this time and
shifts are always day-time hours.--
This position will float between the Operating Rooms in the
following facilities:
McKay Dee Hospital
Layton Hospital
Logan Hospital
Bear River Hospital
This position will be based at McKay/Layton and float 20% of their
time to Logan or Bear River areas.
There is an option in the future to move into one
facility/department if there is a desire!-- Float pool nurses are
often our most skilled and adapt easily in diverse environments.

Minimum Qualifications
Current RN License in the state of Utah.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
(Applicants must either have required additional certifications
(e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a
specified timeframe determined by service line and department
guidelines.)
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in
writing.
Basic computer skills.
**RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior
to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of
their start date.**--
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from
an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly
rate dependent upon experience.--
$33.19 - $49.25
