Job Description

The HR Generalist will provide Human Resource expertise in creating a high-performance culture that emphasizes employee engagement, development, quality, safety and effective Lean implementation to drive a highly engaged and productive workforce.

This role will take ownership of key change initiatives to deliver a High Performance Culture, which is necessary to be a world class manufacturing site. The HR Generalist will build on and apply their expertise in various areas including; talent management, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, and training and development of leaders to enhance site as well as cross-sector effectiveness. Will provide efficient and knowledgeable application of functional skills in the presentation and analysis of information, administration, assistance in development, implementation and coordination of plant programs. Participates in sector and business projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities - HR Key Initiatives

  • Provides an environment for individual performance improvement, and personal career development. Establishes and supports a favorable employee relations climate.
  • Lead site efforts around high performance work systems.
  • Provide leadership to ensure the organization attracts and retains the best people and fosters an environment that motivates and develops a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.
  • Develop, implement and manage programs that ensure a favorable employee / labor relations climate sufficient to drive a World Class Manufacturing environment and employer of choice. Maintains personal contact with employees to assess and ensure consistent application of plant personnel guidelines, effectiveness of plant managing practices and policies, compliance to federal and state employment regulations.
  • Support and drive a broad range of local and corporate strategic HR initiatives to progress the HR function.
  • Understand and administer the Plant Affirmative Action Plan including required reports.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of an effective and compliant internal hiring (job bid) process for all levels of nonexempt employees within the Ogden Plant. This may include "temp-to-hire" program and process with temporary staffing partner(s).
  • Site SME and administrator of Hourly Performance Management processes.
  • Provide advice, counsel and assistance to all leaders and employees regarding Human Resources issues and best practices.
  • Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve the desired business results.
  • Other projects, duties and accountabilities as assigned.

    --- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree. Microsoft Office skills.
    --- 2 - 5 years of experience working in an HR Generalist role.
    --- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources and its disciplines.
    --- Must have demonstrated capability in problem solving and conflict resolution.

    --- SPHR/PHR and / or SHRM Certification(s)
    --- HR experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Workday and other people systems knowledge
