Job Description:

Description The Therapist is responsible for administrating, developing and facilitating the completion of treatment plans in accordance with the requests of the placing agency and the needs of each student on their case load. Therapists are the primary service providers for individual, group, family and case management services. This position reports to the Clinical Director and Placing Agencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides individual, family and group therapy as indicated by program needs. NOJOS and EBT knowledge a plus! 2. Documents all therapy and contacts with clients and other service providers. 3. Maintains clients clinical files in a timely and orderly fashion. 4. Provides crisis intervention as needed. Ensures documentation is completed. 5. Transports clients for therapeutic services when needed. 6. Prepares monthly progress notes, staffing reports, plans and discharge summaries. 7. Ensures the safety, health and welfare of students. 8. Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to staff and students when needed. 9. Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise. 10. Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students. 11. Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontations. 12. Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, provides management with required reports and advises of any problematic situations. 13. Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks. 14. Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and procedures. 15. Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts. 16. Attends and participates in all required meetings. 17. Commits to attending all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of training on an annual basis. Notifies supervisor if annual training hours are deficient. 18. Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form to meet the needs of the program. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or Counseling with a license from the Department of Professional Licensing. Bachelors degree in related field with enrollment in a Masters program will be considered. NOJOS and EBT knowledge a plus! 2. Obtain the appropriate number of CEUs each year to maintain licensure 3. One year of prior experience working in a residential setting with adolescent offenders, their families and the Juvenile Justice System. 4. Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Drivers License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years. 5. Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test. 6. Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects. 7. Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence. 8. Ability to understand and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions. 9. Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied schedule and have excellent organization and time management skills 10. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 11. Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships. 12. Ability to provide exemplary customer service to all employees and outside constituents. 13. Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment. 14. Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions.
