Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems is currently seeking a Site Manager III to lead the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) rocket motor first and second stage final assembly (RMA) at our Promontory north plant campus.Job description:As a Propulsion Systems Operations Site Manager, Level 3, you will lead a team of highly skilled OTS (Operations Team Supervisors) and manufacturing technicians to safely provide a quality product on-time and on-cost for the GBSD program. Additionally, you will be responsible for reactivating facilities, qualifying tooling, and the development of personnel, cross-training, staffing and managing resources to meet production schedules.Job ResponsibilitiesParticipate in design and setup of safe world-class rocket motor production facilitiesWork with facility engineering and contractors to reactivate and construct facilitiesContribute as a team member developing process simulation models to determine optimal equipment/tooling floor plans and process flow.Participate in defining tooling requirements. Setup and conduct ORI for new equipment and tooling.Lead a team of highly skilled OTS and manufacturing technicians to safely provide a quality product on-time and on-cost for various programsMaintain a safe work environment (personal and professional)Ensure facilities, tooling, planning, materials, and people are available to complete assigned workloadsExecute day-to-day operations to complete daily production goals in support of business requirementsInitiate Maintenance Work Orders, Tool Discrepancy Reports, Tooling Change Notices and Facilities Engineering Orders, and track to completionEnsure training (e.g., procedures, quality documents, safety, etc.) is complete and effectiveLead/participate in continuous improvement activitiesResponsible for performance management and corrective actionAdminister and implement corrective actions for mishaps, quality issues, FOD, etc.Lead/participate in root cause and corrective action analysis, implementation, effectiveness, etc.Utilize performance management and succession planning tools to develop team members'Experience Requirements:Ability to read and interpret engineering (e.g., drawings, 3-D models, specifications) and operating proceduresProblem solving skills and ability to apply lean manufacturing principles to improve process flow and standardizationWillingness to work flexible and changing shift schedules; day or night shifts, including weekends, if necessarySuccessful history of managing personnel in high energy assignments while promoting a safe and productive environmentProven leadership skills and experience with PES improvementsStrong interpersonal skills, both written and verbalDemonstrated use of manufacturing performance measurement toolsComputer skills: Excel, Access, Power Point, WordWorking with energetic materialPreferred Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree and 9 years of experience; orMaster Degree and 7 years of experience13 plus years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of the college degreeExperience leading people5 years or more experience with solid rocket motor case winding and preparation, and ship.Experienced with mixing and casting solid rocket fuelTop Secret Clearance and SAP is required to startSalary Range: 118500 - 177700Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
