The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting
for temporary Boat Station Pest Detection Specialists for the Plant
Industries division located at a Boat Inspection Station in
Dubois.

Example of Duties
This job is part of the agency's statewide invasive species
prevention program. These positions will serve as members of a
watercraft inspection team stationed at the Inspection Station in
Dubois, Idaho.
These positions inspect watercraft to prevent the spread of
zebra/quagga mussels and other Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) from
infested states. The position will use an established protocol to
inspect watercraft and conduct hot washes on high-risk conveyances;
conducting quality control activities at watercraft inspection
stations; setting up and taking down portable traffic signs on
daily basis; and properly entering detailed watercraft data on an
electronic inspection form.
Minimum Qualifications
These qualifications are mandatory requirements.
+ Good communication skills
+ Ability to pay attention to detail when conducting watercraft
inspections
+ Work in various types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind,
rain, etc.)
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable
accommodation
+ Ability to bend and crawl underneath watercraft, when
necessary
+ Possibility of working evenings, weekends, or long hours
+ Valid driver's license
Supplemental Information
Desirable Area: This qualification is not required; however, if you
have the related background it may increase your score.
+ Aquatic biology, ecology or field inspection experience
+ Experience with pressure washers
