Job Description:
Job ID 15435The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a
site lead for its offices in the Ogden, UT area. As a
University-Affiliated Research Center (UARC), SDL works with the
Department of Defense and industry to create novel solutions that
impact national defense in the space, air, land, maritime, and
cyber domains. SDL is actively involved in the execution of many
programs across various USAF centers at Hill AFB, and this
portfolio has grown to the point where a site lead based in Ogden,
UT is desired.Responsibilities will include:
Coordinate with SDL leadership in the
execution of programs along the Wasatch Front, especially during
the incubation phase of technology maturation.Identify new
opportunities in the Ogden area where SDL can contribute in its
UARC role, and successfully develop these opportunities into active
programs.Develop and enhance relationships with current and
potential customers and teaming partners and provide technical and
management support to these customers and programs. This includes
acting as a senior liaison with applicable Government agencies and
offices.Provide mentoring to SDL Ogden staff.Represent SDL's Ogden
office by attending all major SDL management meetings and providing
direct informative communication as needed.Establish short- and
long-range strategic objectives for the SDL Ogden office that
support SDL's overall strategic plan.Required qualifications:
- BS degree.
- 15+ years on-the-job experience that includes a strong
background in program management, team leadership, technology
development, and/or technology integration into military
environments.Ability to comprehend and respond to engineering
requirements.
- Experience and programmatic knowledge and understanding of the
DoD to include all levels of program stages from technical concept
development to fielding and sustainment, with detailed
understanding of fiscal, operational, policy, legislative, and
management environments.
- Sound analytical skills with ability to identify and grasp
business issues and opportunities and link them to overall business
strategies.
- Strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and grow a technical team.
- Ability to work collaboratively and find optimum solutions even
when disparate points of view exist.
- Ability to travel, sometimes frequently.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security
clearance.Preferred qualifications:
MS or PhD degree.Technical background
in terrestrial ISR sensing, ground systems, reengineering, modeling
& simulation, cyber technologies, and/or nuclear deterrence.Direct
experience working with program offices at Hill AFB.Direct
experience working with IC elements or agencies.DoD War College or
other Executive Level Professional Military Education (PME)
credentials.DoD Acquisition Professional Development Program Level
